5 Hair Care Tips for a Hijabi


Hi Readers.


As a new hijabi, it can be difficult to take care of your hair. While our hair is mainly covered, we still need to keep healthy. 


Below are a list of tips to keep our hair healthy:

1) Wash hair every 2-3 days

2) Don't forget to use conditioner

3) Tie hair using silk scrunches

4) Make sure hair is dry before tie hair or wear hijab

5) Weekly hair treatment


1) Wash hair every 2-3 days


It is best to shampoo your hair every 2-3 days to clean any dirt or other things off the scalp and hair.

As our scalp hair natural oils, washing the hair daily will dry up the hair further unless stated.


2) Don't forget to use conditioner


Conditioners are best used after shampoo to nourish and moisturise the hair. This will make the hair soft. 


3) Tie hair using silk scrunchies


If you need to tie the hair, it is best to use silk scrunchies instead of those rubber band type. This will prevent hair breakage. Also, do try not to tie the hair too tightly as this too will cause hair breakage and hair falling.


4) Make sure hair is dry before tie hair or wear hijab


I find this tip the most difficult to follow, especially if your are a busy women. For your hair to be healthy, it is best to have your hair completely dry before tying your hair up and wearing the hijab. Doing so with damp hair, will damage the hair.


5) Weekly hair treatment


This one is optional but recommended. If possible, try to do a weekly hair treatment. This is to replenish any lost nutrients from the hair during the week. 


Overall, even as a hijabi, we need to maintain healthy hair. I hope the above tips will help. If your hair is damaged or have dandruff do seek professional help for advice.
